How do DWD students prepare for fieldwork?
Of course, before we send them to fieldwork, kailangan ay meron silang tamang grounding or theoretical grounding sa perspectives.
Para pagdating nila sa kanilang fieldwork, they will be able to apply the theories, the perspectives, the constructs.
So hindi ka basta-basta simpleng ilalagay sa fieldwork na wala kang kamalay-malay.
So importante na before we do that, nakadaan dun sa mga foundational subjects yung ating mga learners, para handa sila.
Para pag sila ay nandoon na sa, I mean, it’s like a workplace for them; kaya nilang makatugon, kaya nilang makatulong na makapag propagate, makapagtulong sa suri, makatulong doon sa ahensya na magkaroon ng gendered perspectives.
What are the requirements for the DWD program?
Dahil ang DWD ay isang professional program, doon sa mga nagnanais na pumasok sa DWD, dapat meron kayong bachelor’s degree. At of course, mas maganda sana kung ang grade doon ay 2.0 or better.
At ang ibang mga requirements, of course, you need to be endorsed by either your superior or yung mga naging guru in the past by way of a recommendation letter.
So now, the program is 21 units, because this is a professional program.
Pag tiningnan yung distribution ng 21 units, of course, there are foundational subjects or courses.
Ito yung mga core courses. There are about 12; and then, merong field placement o practicum; and may mga electives.
So all in all, there are 21 units. At may ilang mga plano na those who graduated or our alumni from the program ay pwedeng mas magiging priority when once we offer a master’s program.
A Master in Women and Gender Studies, which is part of the plan; it’s in the pipeline.
