Leonilo O. Doloricon is a distinguished visual artist and professor at the College of Fine Arts, UP Diliman. His works, known for reflecting social reality, have been exhibited here and abroad, including the Philippine Art Center in New York, Cento Cultura de la Raza in California, Cultural Exposition in Madrid, and the UP Vargas Museum. Aside from being recognized as a UP Artist II, he has also received the Jose and Asuncion Joya (1999), Fernando Amorsolo (1994 and 2011), and Guillermo Tolentino (2004) Professorial Chairs from the College of Fine Arts. He became artist-in-residence at the Frans Masereel Centrum in Belgium in 2015, and was a representative at the Formation of ASEAN Cartoonists’ Association (200) and at the 2nd Asian Cartoon Exhibit in Tokyo (1996). He was also awarded the Gawad para sa Sining Biswal by the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 1990.
