SELF AND SOCIETY: THE PHILIPPINE CONTEXT
Dr. Carolyn Sobritchea
Dr. Carolyn Sobritchea is a Professorial Lecturer of Philippine Studies at the Asian Center, University of the Philippines, Diliman. She is currently the Chairperson of the CHED Technical Panel on Gender/Women’s Studies. She is also the President of the Phi Kappa Phi International Honor Society, Chapter 045.
She served as the Dean of the Asian Center, Director of the UP Center for Women’s Studies and its Deputy Director for Training and Extension Service. As former Dean, she helped strengthen the links of UP with other academic institutions in Asia by enhancing its faculty and student exchange programs and through conduct of joint research and publications. As a faculty of the Asian Center for 45 years, she has helped in the development of the MA and PhD courses as well as the establishment of the Tri-College Philippine Studies Program.
