Prof. Amado Mendoza
Amado M. Mendoza, Jr., Ph.D is a professor in political science and international studies at the College of Social Science and Philosophy, UP Diliman. He is also vice president and chief analyst for international politics of Novo Trends PH, a survey ++ firm and co-owner and chief communications officer of Pasteleria Manila. Also a blogger and a political photo-poet, he maintains extensive presence in many social media platforms and often serves as resource person for domestic and foreign mass media. Among his previous appointments include visiting professor at University of California at San Diego School of International Relations and Pacific Studies, visiting senior researcher at Jinan University (Guangzhou, China), visiting senior researcher, Jean Monnet Centre, Turku University (Turku, Finland) visiting senior researcher, Amsterdam School of International Relations, vice president for research and strategic studies of the National Defense College of the Philippines, chief of staff of Rep. Manuel Araneta Roxas II (LP-Capiz) assistant professor in economics and development studies in UP Manila, and senior reporter for Business Day, Southeast Asia’s first business daily. He is father to four and doting grandfather of three. He was a political prisoner from September 1973 to December 1974.
