ANG “PANAHON NG KALAMBA” MULA PROPAGANDA TUNGONG REBOLUSYON
Dr. Ferdinand C. Llanes

DR. FERDINAND C. LLANES holds a PhD in Philippine Studies in the areas of History and Anthropology at the University of the Philippines. He has written on Philippine history and Philippine historiography, Philippine social movements especially in the Philippine workers’ movement, Philippine colonial history and the reform/revolutionary period, relations of Filipinos with Siam in the 18th century and with Cuba on the anti-colonial/anti-imperialist struggle. He has just returned from Cuba to read a paper on contacts between Filipino and Cuban revolutionaries in the 19th Century.

His recent publications include (as editor and contributing author of) T’bak Rising: Activism in the Days of Martial Law, published by Anvil in 2012, which was shortlisted as a finalist in the 2013 National Book Award, and UP in the Time of People Power published by UP Press in 2009. He won the Collantes Award, 2nd Place, 1991 for an essay on the Katipunan. Prof. Llanes was Commissioner, National Historical Commission of the Philippines from 2010 to 2014; Director of Padayon (UP Public Service Office) in 2013; Chair of Department of History, UP Diliman from 2006 to 2009; and Chair of Philippine Academic Consortium for Latin American Studies from 2007 to 2009.
