In his presentation, Mr. Carlo Perete delves into medical waste and its effect on climate change. Perete explains how the health industry also contributes to pollution; for instance, expired or used medicines and equipment. He claims that a viable solution for this big problem is green chemistry and waste management. He later briefly lists hospital regulations such as the Sanitation Act of the Philippines (P.D. 856) and Hospital License Act. Lastly, Perete advises everyone to just buy and use the sufficient amount of medicines or medical devices that one is able to use within expiry.
